Describing the function of UGM Faucet
### **What is UGM Faucet**
When someone is [entitled a NFT](/nft-utilities/underground-moods-releases) after a purchase on [www.undergroundmoods.com](https://undergroundmoods.com/), they will receive a message with instructions on how to redeem the NFT reward.
In cases where the user does not redeem their entitled NFT in time, the specific NFT will be released for free in the UGM Faucet channel on [Underground Moods Arts Club](https://discord.gg/E3qJJm5B6y) through specific events.
It does not matter rarity or exclusivity of the NFT, if its not redeemed initially it will be given to the community. The specific events to obtain the NFTs will change in format from time to time.

# Step 1 - Create Avalanche wallet
This tutorial presents how to create an Avalanche wallet to interact with the Avalanche X-chain and Kalao (the marketplace we use for our NFTs).
First of all, you have to click on [Avalanche Wallet: Store Your Avalanche Assets (avax.network)](https://wallet.avax.network/) which is the official link of Avalanche wallet website.
Then, you will have to choose “**Create a new wallet**”
2\. Then, you will **generate** a **key phrase** which is the most important part of this tutorial.
Registering these 24 words is the **most important** step when creating a wallet. **Take your time and double check it**.
*Remember DO NOT share this to anyone and DO NOT save it as an image in your phone or PC.*
3\. Then, you have to confirm you safely wrote your key phrase and click on “**Access Wallet**”.
4\. The next step is a security step, Avalanche checks if you have registered your Mnemonic Phrase. You must **fill** in all the **blanks** with the correct words (example below with number 9).
5\. Congratulations, you have now access to your Avalanche wallet clicking “**Access Wallet”**.
Anytime when accessing your wallet, this will be your first page. You will notice the X (exchange), C (contracts) and P (platform) letters on the top right corner. That’s the **three chains** which exist on Avalanche’s default subnet. Depending on the exchange you bought AVAX, you’ll need to sen*d* AVAX to this wallet via X-Chain or C-Chain address.
# Step 2 - Set up MetaMask
This tutorial presents how to create a Metamask wallet
1\. First of all, you have to click on which is the official link of Metamask website. Then, you will have to choose in the “**download**” section your associated browser.
2\. When your extension is set up, you can **Create** a **MetaMask** wallet. Let’s see together all the steps for Chrome.
3\. If you are reading this step-by-step tutorial, chances are you have never created an account, so select “**Create a Wallet**”.
4\. You will have to agree that **Metamask** use your data to improve its use.
5\. Then, the next step is to set up a **strong password** (more than 8 characters recommended).
In this example, the password doesn't seem strong enough, so feel free to create one with higher security.
6\. Once your password is set up, the next step is **one of the most crucial**. You will also have the possibility to watch a short video to learn about your **Secret Recovery Phrase** and how to keep your wallet safe. We recommend you to take the time to watch it. Security is never a waste of time.
Registering these words is the **most important** step when creating a wallet. **Take your time and double check it**.
7\. Then, you will need to put in the exact same order the 12 words to let **Metamask** know that you saved your seed words which are the keys to recovering your wallet in any case.

# How to sell a NFT on Kalao
Once you logged into the **Kalao** **Marketplace**, follow those lines to make a **Direct** **Sell** using **C-Chain**.
1\. Press “**Sell**” at the top right corner
2\. Select “**C-Chain**” in order to sell using the C-Chain network.
3\. Select “**Direct Sale**” in the list then select which NFT you would like to sell with **“+Add**”.
4\. Once added, choose your $AVAX “**Price**”, select the “**Categories**” and add any other optional information as “**Title**” and “**Description**”. Once done, click on “**Sell**”. Note that by default, the title and description are the same as in the first mint.
5\. Once clicked on “**Sell**”, a **Metamask** pop-up will appear in order to “**Confirm**” the transaction.
6\. Once confirmed, your **Direct** NFT **Sale** will appear in your **Dashboard**.
# How to sell an NFT on Kalao (using X-Chain)
This tutorial presents how to sell an NFT on Kalao using the X-chain network and its avalanche wallet
Once you logged into the **Kalao** **Marketplace** using this tutorial ["**How to connect Metamask to my Kalao account**"](/how-to/setup-web-3.0-account/step-4-connect-metamask-with-kalao), follow those lines to **Sale** an NFT using **X-Chain**.
1\. Press “**Sell**” at the top right corner
2\. Select “**X-Chain**” in order to sell using the X-Chain network.
3\. You are now able to send your **NFT** to a dedicated **X-chain** address. Please take note that 0.001 AVAX fees must be sent at the same time to deploy the **sales contract**. *Note that there is a timer before the transaction expired*
**Here is your X-chain deposit address. Copy it and send your NFT to this address.**
4\. Now follow instructions mentioned in the section “[**How to send an NFT within Avalanche Studio**](broken://pages/vED8GeDzlzmRav0hO6ie)” in order to send an NFT. *Note that you have to **Send** at least **0,001 $AVAX** for the **contract*** ***fees**.*
5\. Once the **NFT** and the **fee** have been **sent**, edit the “**Price**” section, chose a “**Category**” and click on **“Sell”** to **deploy** the contract.
If you cannot, verify you have sent at least 0,001 AVAX for the contract deployment.
6\. Once confirmed, your **X-Chain** NFT **Sale** will appear in your **Dashboard**, and the sale will be active and available from the **Explore** panel.
# How to create an auction on Kalao
Once you logged into the **Kalao** **Marketplace**, follow those lines to make an **Auction** using **C-Chain**. *Note that **once** the **NFT** is **auctioned**, you **cannot cancel** to get it back, you have to wait until the time is up.*
1\. Press “**Sell**” at the top right corner
2\. Select “**C-Chain**” in order to sell using the X-Chain network.
3\. “**Auction**” should be set as default, and then select which NFT you would like to sell by clicking on **“+Add**”.
4\. Once added, select the “**Duration**” of your auction, your starting “**Price**” corresponding to the first minimum **bid**, the “**Categorie**” of your NFT and any useful additional information such as “**Title**” and “**Description**”.
5\. Once clicked on “**Sell**”, a **Metamask** pop-up will appear in order to “**Confirm**” the transaction.
6\. Once confirmed, your **Auction** NFT sale will appear in your **Dashboard**.

# Step 2 - Deposit $AVAX
This tutorial shows how to add funds to your Avalanche wallet and then buy / create / sell NFTs on Kalao
If you have purchased **$AVAX** and have them in your exchange’s wallet follow these instructions:
1\. Select the right coin ($AVAX in this case) and click on the “**Withdraw**” button in your respective exchange.
2\. **Copy** your **Metamask** address
3\. **Past** your address to the desired location of the used exchange.
4\. Select the right network depending on the wallet you use, in our case, select **AVAX C-CHAIN** network.
*Notice that all chains and network are not supported by all wallet.*

# I did not receive NFT after purchase
Thank you for purchasing a item on Underground Moods.
If you did not receive any NFTs in this round it means you were too late and the NFTs for the specific release you purchased are gone. Keep your eyes open for the items on the secondary market however.
# I can't see my NFTs in my account
NOTE: Your **Kalao** account is only a window into your crypto wallet, showing all the NFTs inside. **Kalao** does not store any of your items, your account is just providing access to view the transactions in your wallet.
There are 2 common reasons NFTs are not visible on your **Kalao** profile and tips to help remediate :
1\. Your crypto wallet (**Metamask**) is not connected correctly. Close out your browser, clear your cache, and try reconnecting. Do you have more than 1 crypto wallet? If so, make sure you are connecting to the correct wallet.
2\. You just completed a transaction and you don't see the NFT you just purchased. If there is high demand on the Avalanche blockchain, it could take more time to complete the transaction than anticipated.
# I can't cancel NFT sale on Kalao
When you check your **Dashboard**, if you want to **Cancel** a **Sale**, you have to:
1\. Press “” to select the sale you want to **Cancel** in “**Opened Sales on C-chain**”.
2\. Click on “**Cancel**”.
3\. A **Metamask** pop-up appear in order to “**Confirm**” your transaction.
4\. Once “**Cancelled**”, the sale should no longer appear in your “**Opened Sales on C-Chain**” and will return to the "**My Collectibles**" section.

# What is Avalanche blockchain

**Avalanche** is a unique blockchain that provides **high security**, **speed** and **low-cost** fees transactions. What makes Avalanche a special network? Its mainnet is composed of three blockchains: the **X-Chain**, **C-Chain**, and **P-Chain**. Instead of having one overloaded chain, each blockchain has a specific purpose in the Avalanche ecosystem.
The X-Chain is used for **managing assets** through the Avalanche consensus protocol. Transactions on the X-Chain generate fees paid in $AVAX. That’s similar to how gas fees on Ethereum are paid in $ETH.
The P-Chain **coordinates validators**. But also, it allows anyone to create a new blockchain called **subnets**.
And the C-Chain is related to **smart contracts** creation which is necessary for **Decentralized** **Applications** (DAPPS) and **Non Fungible Tokens** (NFT). But also, it is **EVM** (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible which means anyone can deploy Ethereum smart contracts on Avalanche.
# What are NFTs
A NFT is a **Non-Fungible Token.**
It is a **unique**, **non-interchangeable** digital asset or a digital ownership if you will.
While exchanging fungible tokens, such as $ETH or $AVAX, will allow you to exchange one similar token to another, NFTs provide notion of **traceability**.
The difference between fungible and non-fungible tokens is that even though you can exchange 1 NFT for another 1 NFT, they will keep their **specific** **parameters** and **be traceable.**
Identifications such as the **author's name**, **creation date**, **description** or any other attribute guarantee **high traceability**.
The creator can also earn **royalties** from his NFT.
It allows artists to sell their works through a **secure system** and users to buy **certified artworks**.
**Digital art** or **collectibles** are common examples.
NFTs can be used to represent objects such as **photos**, **videos**, **music** and other types of **digital files** such as **tickets**.
They allow you to access the **original file**.

The term **metaverse** refers to a **virtual** **reality** **world** that resembles the real world we currently live in, but is **computer-generated** and offers endless possibilities for who you want to be and what you can experience.
