# What is metaverse

The term **metaverse** refers to a **virtual** **reality** **world** that resembles the real world we currently live in, but is **computer-generated** and offers endless possibilities for who you want to be and what you can experience.

Related to the **metaverse** we can talk about **virtual reality** (VR) and **augmented reality** (AR).

But what are they?

**Virtual reality** is the representation of a world in three dimensions. The user does not remain at a distance from the screen, he will dive into the **3D universe**, especially through a VR headset, which will make him interact in this universe.

**Augmented reality** will enrich the real with **virtual elements**, it's a bit like watching an "augmented" version of reality. There can be superimposed information and even the integration of imaginary objects in 3D.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.undergroundmoods.com/faq/technology/what-is-metaverse.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
