# Step 2 - Set up MetaMask

1\. First of all, you have to click on <https://metamask.io/> which is the official link of Metamask website. Then, you will have to choose in the “**download**” section your associated browser.

2\. When your extension is set up, you can **Create** a **MetaMask** wallet. Let’s see together all the steps for Chrome.

3\. If you are reading this step-by-step tutorial, chances are you have never created an account, so select “**Create a Wallet**”.

4\. You will have to agree that **Metamask** use your data to improve its use.

5\. Then, the next step is to set up a **strong password** (more than 8 characters recommended).

In this example, the password doesn't seem strong enough, so feel free to create one with higher security.

6\. Once your password is set up, the next step is **one of the most crucial**. You will also have the possibility to watch a short video to learn about your **Secret Recovery Phrase** and how to keep your wallet safe. We recommend you to take the time to watch it. Security is never a waste of time.

Registering these words is the **most important** step when creating a wallet. **Take your time and double check it**.

7\. Then, you will need to put in the exact same order the 12 words to let **Metamask** know that you saved your seed words which are the keys to recovering your wallet in any case.
